Park Location

Located in the midst of Taunus Nature Park at a height of 420 metres above sea level, Vogelburg offers something for everyone – for the young and the young at heart, families with children, pupils and students, and groups. It is a very unique attraction and excellent place for excursions and school visits. Dogs are welcome: you may take your dog with you as long as it is kept on a leash.

Many birds are tame to the hand, are happy to be fed by hand and surprise visitors with their ability to talk and acrobatic skills. They feel at ease because they are kept in an appropriate way ensuring their welfare and because they have found another bird as a social partner they missed before while living without another bird in a private household.

Buildings

The houses and aviaries housing the parrots are made of slate from Taunus (a mountain range located north of Frankfurt), ensuring that the complete park location matches the landscape perfectly. Thousands of tonnes of natural stone have been used to build the castle-like location home to numerous macaws and amazons from Central America and South America, cockatoos and parakeets from Australia and parrots from Africa. At Vogelburg, the parrots are able to live a happy life completely free of any physical or mental stress.

On your tour around Vogelburg park you will be surprised by the many, newly used structural elements from demolished houses: archways, doors, windows and window frames made of sandstone; ornaments, sculptures and old latticework. And you will love the unique way these partially very old components have been assembled and installed creatively in the park location and have thus found a new purpose and destination.

Our picture gallery will give you a first impression of Vogelburg. We highly recommend that you visit Vogelburg in person and enjoy wonderful moments here. We will be delighted to welcome you at Vogelburg.
